Janet Sachiko Badua, 77, of Papaikou died Aug. 10 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Care Center. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker. Services held. Survived by husband, Federico Badua Sr. of Papaikou; daughters, Cynthia Badua of Hilo, Kelly (Michael) Staszkow of Honomu and Kaylene Badua of San Antonio; sons, Federico Badua Jr. of Hilo, Jaime (Nowmie) Badua of Las Vegas and Tracy Badua of San Antonio; sister, Doreen (Patrick) Tanihiro of Hilo; brother, George (Alice) Hayashida of Oahu; four grandchildren; in-laws and cousins. Born in St. Paul, Minn., he was a retired state unemployment insurance auditor, field examiner for Federal Home Loan Bank, senior vice president-cashier for Security National Bank of Anchorage, Alaska, branch manager of Alaska USA Federal Credit Union at Clark Air Base, the Philippines, international branch manager for First Republic Bancorp in San Francisco, reader, tennis player, and U.S. Navy Korean War veteran.
